If this was a record review, then I would feel a great need to reference Jesus and Mary Chain in every other sentence, just like every other site, but fortunately, this is just a live review and so I don’t have to (which is quite a relief, since I haven’t actually heard any of the Jesus and Mary Chain, yet). Considering the somewhat abrupt turn BRMC has taken in its recent Howl, I didn’t know quite what to expect at the show, and so I was not entire surprised that much of the first half of the show was music from the new album, presented in an appropriate way: with reverence and feeling, as they played several different instruments. These included the usual guitar and bass to piano and even mouth organ. The second half of the show covered mostly their classics, with some good old fashioned rock-and-roll. Nothing too excpetional to report, except that the music was well played and and well enjoyed by everyone.
