Continuing on the Axe vein, another awesome commercial features music by The Legend himself, Aphex Twin. While I could rave for hours on end about this guy (and I have, to some unfortunate people), I feel that I should let some of his music speak for himself. Normally, I’m very disappointed when a good artist “sells out” their music to be used on commercials, but in this case, I’ll let it slide for two reasons: the track comes from a blatantly commercial album (entitled 26 Mixes for Cash!), and as mentioned before, Axe is the highest form of advertisement.Without going into too much detail, I’d like to point out that in many cases, Aphex Twin’s “remixes” are nothing at all like the originals (indeed, in some cases bands requesting remixes have been outraged at his complete disdain for their music by not even bothering to less to the original, and simply passing off one of his own tracks as the “remix”), and although I have not heard the original of this track, there is a good chance it is mostly Aphex Twin’s musical content.
Finally, if you liked this song at all, you owe it to yourself to hear much more of this modern day genius’s music. Talk to me to get recommendations.
