Half the class was laughing throughout this entire movie, and the other half was questioning every interlude, every dialog, every sigh the main character made, every shot of food. It just goes to show that people can miss the entire point of the movie if they get hung up on small things; or equivalently, some film-makers focus on the small things when the whole essence is wrong. This movie is so full of life, it’s amazing–a wonderfully heart-warming film that’s sappy but with the right accompanying dose of humor that elevates it far above mediocrity.
