Haha since the United States has established itself as the master of consolidating power in the hands of the top people under the pretense of “security” and “war on terror”, it’s no surprise that other countries are now using the same tried-and-tested methods to do the same. Russia, for example, with its own “war on terror” in Chechnya, and especially with the recent school hostage massacre.
In somewhat unrelated news, the media can legally lie. A quote:
“During their appeal, FOX asserted that there are no written rules against distorting news in the media. They argued that, under the First Amendment, broadcasters have the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on public airwaves. Fox attorneys did not dispute Akre’s claim that they pressured her to broadcast a false story, they simply maintained that it was their right to do so.”
